Two Puerto Rican Paso Finos are available right now, both living at Hacienda Los Ponce in Isabela. Island-wide delivery, and you are welcome to come and meet them first.

Come and see them
Both horses live here, at Hacienda Los Ponce in Isabela on the northwest coast. Spending an hour with a horse before you buy it tells you more than any video does, so serious buyers are always welcome to visit, handle the horse and, where the horse is started, ride it. Message me first so I know to be at the gate.
Getting the horse home
Once you have chosen, I load and haul the horse myself. Delivery runs from Isabela to anywhere on the island, and the drive times to the towns people ask about most are on the regional pages below. Transport is quoted separately from the horse, and you get a price inside a day.

Before you buy
Buyers are solely responsible for verifying the health, soundness, temperament, registration, and ownership of any horse prior to purchase. We strongly recommend an independent pre-purchase veterinary exam. Barefoot Riding PR accepts no liability for any sale.

How buying here works
Two horses, and no hurry.
There are two for sale, not a yard full. That means you get the actual history of the actual horse rather than a sales patter, and it means I would rather you came and sat with it.
Step 01
Tell me what you want the horse for
Trail, shows, gymkhana, a first horse for somebody in the family. The two are not interchangeable and the honest answer is sometimes that neither of them fits.
Step 02
Come and handle it
Catch it, lead it, pick its feet up, and where the horse is started, ride it. An hour at the stable tells you things no video will. Message first so I know to be at the gate.
Step 03
Try him at an event
Cha Cha is for rent as well as for sale, so you can take him to a gymkhana and find out how he handles a real day before you commit. That option is on the rental page.
Step 04
I drive it to you
Loading and hauling is my own trailer and my own hands, anywhere on the island. Quoted separately from the horse, and you get a price inside a day.
What comes with the horse
Every horse here has been through the same ground work the training program is built on, which is the reason they load, stand, and let you pick their feet up without an argument. That is not a bonus feature, it is the whole reason a horse from a five horse operation is worth looking at.
If you buy one and want to keep going with it, or if something comes up six months later, ask. And if you have a horse already and it is the one giving you trouble rather than the one you are buying, the training program takes outside horses too. Every horse in this herd arrived with one of those problems.
Both horses for sale are Puerto Rican Paso Finos, the island's own breed, and that page is worth ten minutes before you buy one: the four beat gait people talk about is the whole reason the breed exists. Two of the horses that are not for sale, Dolly and her daughter Sadie, are American Paint Horses instead, which is a different five hundred year story.
