Experience is recommended but not required. We give a short riding introduction at the beginning of the ride on how the horse is trained to turn, stop, and what to do in an emergency. Our horses are trained in walk, trot, and canter. This means the inexperienced rider can, and often does, tell the horse to trot without meaning to. It's ok. Remain calm and ask the horse to slow down or come to a stop.
We recommend long pants and closed-toe shoes. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat!
Yes, for the safety of our horses, we have a rider weight limit of 200 lbs. It is also important that the rider can pull themselves into a saddle, as we start at the beach and there is not a mounting block for getting on and off the horse.
Riders must be at least 12 years old to join our tours. We do offer lead line for younger riders, where the horse is walked by an adult from the ground.
Most rides last about 1.5 hours, including time for photos and brief instruction. (Customize for each tour.)
We ride rain or shine unless weather conditions are unsafe. In that case, we’ll reschedule or issue a refund. Unsafe conditions may be heavy rain, extreme heat, or weather events.
Yes, advance booking is required to ensure availability and proper horse preparation. We have to prepare horses and drive to the location. This means we need at least a day's notice.
For safety reasons, we do not recommend riding while pregnant or with certain health conditions. Please consult your doctor.
Yes! We offer private rides. Our tours are specific for single and couple riders. Rental of a horse for party pony rides or photo shoots is also available. Contact us for more info.
Cancellations made 12 hours in advance are eligible for a refund or reschedule. Please try to let us know the night before your appointment. Special consideration for unexpected events is considered too.
