About Barefoot Riding PR

Based in Isabela, Puerto Rico — where the horses run free and the ocean meets the pasture.

Who We Are

Trust-Based Horsemanship

Barefoot Riding PR was born out of a deep belief that horses deserve to be understood, not controlled. We practice natural horsemanship — building partnerships rooted in trust, respect, and clear communication.

Our facility at Hacienda Los Ponce in Isabela is home to a small, carefully curated herd. Each horse has their own personality, their own story, and their own role in our program. We don't rush the process. We let the horse tell us when they're ready.

Our Philosophy

Barefoot Riding & Natural Horsemanship

We believe in the power of trust-based relationships with horses. Barefoot riding and natural horsemanship aren't just techniques — they're a philosophy that honors the horse's natural instincts and builds genuine partnerships.

Our approach focuses on what's natural for horses: allowing them to move freely, developing their awareness and confidence, and creating a communication framework based on subtle cues rather than force.

Where We Are

Isabela, Puerto Rico

Our home base is in the beautiful coastal town of Isabela on Puerto Rico's northwest coast. Surrounded by lush green pastures, dramatic cliffs, and some of the best sunsets on the island, it's the perfect setting for everything we do.

Whether you're coming for a photography session, dropping off a horse for training, or just visiting the herd — you'll feel the difference that this place makes.
